Building Performance Testing Co. is committed to providing accurate and timely Building and HVAC commissioning. Building Performance Testing, otherwise known as BPT, has vast experience in this field and has performance tested thousands of buildings. Strand Brothers, our parent company has been performing energy audits and testing building performance since 1978.

We are currently working with the 2006 International Energy Code as adopted by the City of Austin and Austin Energy. This code applies to all new single family and multi-family buildings with permits pulled after January 1, 2008. This ordinance also applies to any remodeling addition where 200 square feet or more of air conditioned space has been added. A new home or home addition must have these tests taken and meet the specified criteria to be approved by the City of Austin.

We are also very involved with testing Green Building projects. We have been a certified third party tester for the Green Building program since 2001.

We want you to pass every test with flying colors! We are happy to fill you in on what you need to know in order to prevent issues with these new building codes.

We are aware that to some builders and contractors this may seem like a hassle. We'll fill you in on the benefits of this city building code and tell how easy it can be to pass every test.
